Tools and Materials:

• One 12" pre-made baseball or soccer ball piñata
• Light gray acrylic paint
• Paint brush
• Two 8.5"x11" sheets dark gray paper
• 1.5 yd 1/4" black ribbon
• Assorted candy or small toys (for piñata filler)

Step-By-Step Instructions:

1. Remove any paper details that might still show or fall off after painting (i.e. red stitching from the baseball)
2. Paint entire piñata gray
3. Cut a 3"-4" diameter circle from the grey paper. You can use a glass or jar to trace a circle with a pencil beforehand
4. Add details to circle attaching small sections of black ribbon
5. Cut four 2"x11" strips from the second piece of paper
6. Attach these four segments end-to-end to form one long band and adhere black ribbon to the center of it
7. Wrap this around the center of the Death Star, trim excess and secure with hot glue
8. Hang piñata

Tip: For a festive finishing touch, let silver and black curling ribbon dangle alongside black hanging ribbon.
