A Boy's Nursery

Surround your baby boy with things that will spark his imagination and ignite his curiosity.
Make sure it's a space that will be equally comfortable for you and your baby.

How to Design A Boy's Nursery

START WITH A THEME

Sailboats, animals, even something as simple as plaid – your choices for a nursery motif are varied. Bring your theme to life in multiple dimensions. Everything from crib bedding and mobiles to a rug and window panels can lend itself well to playful prints and appliqués.

MIX AND MATCH COLOR

The color you choose for the walls can be a tonal shade of one of the colors in your crib bedding, or it can be white or another neutral that serves as a clean canvas for other decor. Try an accent wall in a rich color to add depth and dimension.

CELEBRATE THE DETAILS

Even something as everyday as a laundry hamper can be an opportunity to add some color and style to your nursery. Choose pieces that are interesting and unique to give the room a polished look. Consider decorative painting or stenciling to give the walls an unexpected flair.

MAKE IT PERSONAL

Once your baby is born, make his nursery unique by adding a few personal touches. Have large prints made of some of your earliest portraits of your baby, and hang them in a row on the wall. Or, choose a keepsake quilt and have it embroidered with his name.
