Katie Sullivan Morford
Katie Sullivan Morford is a registered dietitian, recipe developer and cooking teacher. She writes about food and family on her blog Mom's Kitchen Handbook. Much of her material comes from having three school-aged children of her own, who are her biggest fans and most discerning critics.
Katie is a long-time food and nutrition writer who has been published in the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Cooking Light, Bon Appétit, Shape, Self, Parenting, and Fit Pregnancy. She is writing a cookbook aimed at helping parents pack easy, wholesome school lunches. She also worked with Marion Cunningham on the book, "Learning to Cook with Marion Cunningham."
In addition to writing, Katie teaches cooking classes to middle schoolers, and occasionally to moms in her home kitchen. Her approach to cooking is to create delicious, fresh, seasonal food, with room for a little decadence, and to have plenty of fun in the kitchen.
In addition to cooking and writing, Katie volunteers at the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. She enjoys yoga, curling up with a good book, and playing with her kids. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and three daughters.
