Patterned Poppers
Make your Thanksgiving celebrations pop with these fun favors. Party poppers add a festive look—and an element of surprise—to any special occasion. Fill with your favorite fall treats and get cracking!
Tools & Materials:
- White tissue paper
- Paper towel tubes
- Scissors
- Yarn
- Patterned craft paper
- Solid brown construction paper
- Filler: Natural excelsior, candy corn, caramel corn or other sweet treats
Step-By-Step Instructions:
- Cut paper towel tubes into four-inch sections
- Stuff with filler items
- Cut white tissue paper so that it's wide enough to wrap around your tubes (approx. 10"-wide sections)
- Cut ends of tissue paper every quarter inch, one inch deep
- Cinch at both ends, twist and tie off with yarn
- Trim the ends to desired length
- Cut solid brown construction to match the width of the tubes, then wrap around, fastening with tapelid brown construction to match the width of the tubes, then wrap around, fastening with tape
- Cut a patterned piece of paper half an inch narrower than the tube and then layer on top of brown construction paper
